Sculley Boatbuilders was founded with one vision in mind – to construct sportfishing yachts that ride smoothly under rough conditions, and that provide the versatility required by serious sportfisherman, completing them with interiors that offer many of the familiar comforts of home.
The first Sculley Sportfisherman hit the water in 2002, and Jim Sculley himself logged more than 1,000 hours driving that boat, making sure it met his standards for excellence over time. Sculley remembers deciding on many days to take the boat past the Cape Hatteras bar when conditions were unfavorable, to say the least. While no one wants to take their cherished boat out into 12-foot seas – at least not intentionally – the Sculley Sportfisherman's ride and durability far exceeded his expectations, and there proved to be enough room in the cabin for a group of people to stay comfortably at sea for several days.
In February 2003, Sculley Boatbuilders expanded to meet anticipated demand by
acquiring a former Davis Boatworks facility. Now, Sculley Boatbuilder's all-star
team of craftsman completes each sportfisherman from the ground up at our boatbuilding facility in Wanchese, North Carolina.
With more than 100 years of combined experience as boat craftsmen and big game fisherman, Sculley Boatbuilders helps people realize their dreams of constructing a luxurious sportfishing yacht that makes it easy to chase billfish in the open sea and raise them onto the deck.

Sculley Sportfisherman are cut and created by the finest marine craftsman working today, using knowledge gathered from three generations of Sculley Boatbuilders family experience that includes thousands of hours logged at sea and more than 100 years of engineering expertise.

The luxurious quarters provide many of the comforts of home, like a salon with a state-of-the-art entertainment system, a full galley, and staterooms with individual showers, heads and storage.
The durability of each Sculley Sportfisherman is designed using the collective engineering and boating knowledge, and experience of our executive team. Each of our boats is cold molded, and we take our time handcrafting each vessel to ensure all Sculley Sportfisherman are the finest crafts found on any body of water.
